Yordanka Velichkova leads the Cat Perils EMEA & Methods team at Cat Perils, the team responsible for Swiss Re proprietary nat cat models and infrastructure.
In her role, Yordanka is responsible for the natural catastrophe risk views in EMEA for confident Nat Cat underwriting decisions, strengthening Swiss Re Nat Cat franchise with investors, rating agencies, regulators, as well as leads a strategy pillar on future-fit Nat Cat underwriting.
Prior to her current role, Yordanka was Swiss Re sidecar's programme lead. She has 8+ years of transactional experience across all retrocession instruments.
Do not be surprised to hear Yordanka speaking in Japanese. She holds an Economics degree from the University of Tokyo, MSc in Operational Research from LSE and has worked as a consultant in Japan prior to joining Swiss Re in 2009. Yordanka sits on the Board of PERILS AG.
