Stefan studied Cartography and Geoinformatics in Munich, and has written his diploma thesis in predicting degradation mechanisms in photovoltaic modules based on high resolution irradiance and climate data. He worked for more than 10 years in applied research areas such as solar energy research at Fraunhofer Institute in Freiburg (Germany) and in the area of Geology and Hydrology modelling at the University of Basel (Switzerland). After joining Munich Re 2018, he was developing the Location Risk Intelligence API and postprocessing the geospatial data availability for the API and frontend application. Since 2022 he is responsible for the Location Risk Intelligence SaaS platform.
