Karen Dayal is Aviva’s CUO for Commercial Lines business reporting to the UK and Ireland GI CEO, the executive has been at Aviva for five years. Prior to her appointment as CUO, Karen was the Director of Exposure Management, Pricing and Insight within the Commercial Division.

Karen is a qualified GI Pricing Actuary with over 20 years pricing experience. She has a wide knowledge of London Market and Commercial Pricing with deep technical knowledge spanning a variety of lines of business. Beginning her career as an Actuarial Trainee for RSA before moving to Zurich to become Head of Pricing for Global Corporate UK, she spent six years at Catlin and later XL Catlin and Axa XL, in a variety of Senior Actuarial Pricing roles.

Shortlisted for GI Actuary of the Year 2021 and Female GI Actuary of the Year 2024, she is recognised as an expert in her field. With strong ethical and professional integrity, chairing the Commercial Lines Women’s Network at Aviva, she is passionate about inspiring diverse teams and creating an inclusive and fair working environment for all.
