Benjamin Zimmermann

Benjamin Zimmermann has a background in investment banking, insurance, and reinsurance. His expertise lies in quantitative risk modelling and portfolio steering, used to assess and steer weather related risks through a wide set of products ranging from parametric covers to derivatives, as well as traditional re-/insurance. Over the past 5 years at Swiss Re, Ben focused on how secondary perils such as forest fires can be properly modeled and navigated in the context of a global agriculture portfolio. Benjamin holds a Bachelor's degree in Banking & Finance and a Master's degree in Quantitative Finance from the University of Zurich. In addition he has also contributed to academia as a lecturer in AI for financial risk assessment at his alma mater for several years.
